Just kinda thinking,if it would be cool or even feesable to get a type of poker run ride in.Anytime between now and ???????????.Invite the clubs like high desert Snake river canyon crawlers, the land cruiser cats, steep an deep, etc and non club members alike..Maybe make it a club challenge type dilly as well..most finishers froma club or best total time as a club...I dont know how the logostics of that would work..send out one person from each club at staggered times or????
Depending on how many sign up depends on the pot.DEFINETLY get some t-shirts made?!?!.."Brawl'n & Crawl'n" Poker Run up front and some other cool junk on em..like a pair of brass knuckles with owyhees or state shape in the background on the back with Brawl'n & Crawl'n arched over the knuckles an silohette of state, and maybe "I survived" "I humped an punched" or some catchy lil saying with the date, location on the bottom
Figure $10 or $20 bucks in the pot per team..1 driver and spotter.Start at the 1st parking lot by the cattle yard.and GET ITTTTTTTT..One big loop..Carnage Canyon,Meat grinder,2 Headed Dragon and Lost Trail back to parking lot for grub, bonfire an camp out?or switch it up..run em all starting at 2H.D. and run carnage.meat grinder backwards!!Figure bomb start if we dont do times..or staggered starts if we timed as well..You break, get your junk out ASAP,cause I going "John Rotten" style on ya and running your junk over :finger:
Guess we could make it timed as well?!?!?,or make extra credit obstacle for an extra card or minus some time?Like that waterfall we saw down in lost trail section, and a few hairy lines on 2H.D that I didnt see a tire track on,like the canyon that goes off to the right? So what ya guys think??
If its shitty, say so..I dont know if its a good idea or not..just some junk crossed my mind to get us together for some rowdiness

shiiiiiiit, reading back throw this and editing it several times..it went from just some local yocals getting together for a fun time..to a full blown event..keep it small or let it get huge, with the club challenge and junk??????let me hear it :finger:

I am up in arms with the size of the Run..I guess it really depends on how many you got to actually committ to the ride.A few reason size kinda dictates..I dont know how we'd get,let say 25 rigs thru the entire trail system with out bottle necking up an obstacle, especialy if it was a timed event..from leaving the start point,to crossing the finish....Cause if you get smoked in the sand wash getting to the canyon to crawl, and have to sit behind 10 other rigs,of course your time is going to suck ass.But if its just a straight up poker run.and have a set stop time such as back in camp at 5pm for cold beer, food, best poker hand for the cash, fire, awards, and camping then that'd be cool and pretty doable.
Other thing, would we'd need folks to volunteer to hand out cards, and make sure no one cuts course, and actualy comes thru the designated obstacle and NOT the BYPASS..Might get a little old sitting at the same obstacle for hrs,or until the last vehicle passes through..I dont know..guess its not worth racking the ol bean with if there isnt enough interest..Might just have to bust out a cannon ball run style winner take all timed run to test the waters?!?! I dont know***SHRUG*** :finger:

Few thoughts: BLM used to have a vehicle # that if you went over it-they required permits, insurance, enviro studies, etc- for organized/advertised events on their land. I have not heard of it enforced in Idaho yet.

If you limit the run to harder trails, i.e. no bypasses; you are excluding the stock and semi-stock rigs. Not everyone is capable.

I like the poker run idea, but think it needs some thought and planning ahead.

as far as BLM goes, we just all happened to wanna go wheeling that day! :firedevi: :firedevi:
nah, seriously tho, I think that's a great idea, and seeing as I don't have a rig ready until I can resolve my computer issues with the $%*&#@! TBI, I'd be willing to volunteer, as I'm sure some of the other folks who have rigs down would...

Like I said, was just a brain fart idea, and definetly needs alot more thought and detail IF it was to pan out.Was just gauging interest before committing a bunch of my time and others into something that no one would be interested in.
Hmmmmmm good point on the BLM.I'll get in touch with my desert racing boys and see what they have to say.
As far as eliminating stock rigs.If you were attempting to bring a stock rig through Carnage,Meat grinder,2 headed Dragon, etc, you eliminated yourself right off the bat regardless if a bypass is available or not!Not to mention, most of the canyons/obstacles you wouldnt even be able to get to the bypass to go around in a stock rig,but I see your point, and would have to address "classes" of rigs as well,or requirments to take bypasses on certain obstacles,i.e tire size, opened, etc

Not downing nothing brutha,I already see the cluster fork that this would be as well.like I said, when I 1st thought about it,I was thinking like on a way smaller level, like what we had on saturday but about 5-10 more rigs, but then I kept editing the orginal post and it kept getting bigger and bigger.
