Sean Michael has an in-depth review of the WARN Zeon 12-S Platinum over on Off-Road.com that's worth a read for anyone in the market.
The Off-Road.com crew tested the winch on their aging and "portly" 80 Series Land Cruiser and really put the WARN 12000 lb winch through its paces, trying out every aspect of the unit - from obvious stuff like pulling power, and ease of use, to spooling performance, line quality, and the wireless Zeon WARN winch controller.
You should really read the whole thing, but here's Sean's quick summary:
- Pros/Reliability, reasonably quiet, ease of use, safety and the ability to operate a host of functions all through a well-executed remote control.
- Cons/Finish on Hawse fairlead flaked off after 1year, 80-foot rope may require an extension, remote control’s battery does not hold charge for extended periods.
- Bottom Line/The Platinum is a truly modern, innovative winch that offers class-leading features.
