I have a 97 jeep wrangler with a 4 cylinder that i just put a 4 inch lift and 33 inch Swampers on. It has 4.10 gears right now, but with the new big tires i dont know if the old gears would be enough. And with the anemic engine that the car has im doubly worried. Should i upgrade to 4.56, or even 4.88 gears? Or am i worrying for nothing?

My dad has a 97 with 35's and same 4 banger. He has an atlas II but as I remember it he was running around 5.00 r/p. I can confirm that for you and let you know. It was enough to get around town and plenty of crawling power with the Atlas. I think he could do about 65 to 70 on the highway. I will find out.

What do you do with it? If its your daily driver, Maybe give the stock gears a try for awhile. Switching gears is expensive. If you plan on running 35" in the future, maybe 4:88's might be a good idea.
