I archive the database about once a week now and the host runs tape backup every night. And I copy that when I do the data base backup. We'll see how it goes.

I'm thinking of the future.....

say the forum takes off... now you are getting 25 new threads a day but each one of the threads takes on 25-30 posts.. (boosting numbers to make a point)

When are... lets say.... 60 days old, they are rarely looked at by newcomers and only reseached to find past info. There is no need to keep the the post on an active cycle.... so you lock them and archive them in categories.. viewable, searchable, but locked.... just for info purposes...

This way the board can stay current and not have to worry about all the excess posts when the time comes....

totally up to you....just trying to help

I think for now, I'm just going to let it ride. I do have the option to automatically prune posts after a certain while. This could also be a manual job that could be passed on to others if interested. "IF" the board grows, Thats the option I will most likely look at.
