So I was tinkering around with the wrangler tub I bought this spring and noticed that the VIN plate that is attached to the windshield above the wiper motor was missing along with the VIN.
Just curious if this is something I need to be worried about?
I do have the title. I have not sent off for a change in title yet, I guess I will do that tomorrow.

Just ask DMV if there is anything else titled with that VIN. If so, then TROUBLE.

It should be stamped on the frame somewhere too. Unless you just got the tub.....

I got the frame as well. It has been powder coated so that might hinder me some. I wonder if it's had the windshield frame replaced, cause the VIN plate comes off with the windshield frame.

my vin is on the dash and does not get removed with the window frame.

the tub is a 93. I have the windshield off my 94 and it's on the windshield, not sure when they changed the mounting points.

'93 is mounted to the windshield frame. But until you drop the windshield, it has the appearance of being mounted to the dash...

(mine's a '93 and I've replaced the tub but kept the windshield)
