Any thoughts about undercoating rust protection on an older vehicle?

I think its a good idea. Is the rust already there or are you just trying to prevent it?

Definitely do it. Rust is easier to prevent than to stop. It's no fun to fix rusted out body panels either. I would suggest using some Por 15, I've heard really good things about it.

Nope, no rust underneath. I brought the truck back from Colorado where they don't use salt to St. Louis where they LOVE salt so I'm trying to protect it as much as possible.

I guess I'll scrub and treat as much as possible. Any areas seem to be particularly susceptible that I should concentrate on?

insides of fenderwells, and floorboards where your feet go are the worst offenders, I think.

Bottom rear of front fenders (usually from trash building up behind the fender), rockers, 1/4 panels around the wheelwell, and the rear floor by the tailgate. And the places AJ also mentioned.
