Ok here we go again more problems with my stupid dodge....

my truck is over heating and im not sure if it is the thermostat sticking closed or the heater core

what is happening is my truck will heat up to 240-260 in about 10 mins of driving and stay there. when it does this i am not getting any heat out of the heater. i noticed the other night it was making a gargling sound im not sure if it was the radiator or what.

is there any way to tell if my heatr core is clogged

thanks for the help

you should be able to feel the hoses going in and out of the core there should be only a small difference in temp from one to the outher if one is alot cooler than the outher then you have a pluged core, you could also have a problem with the blend door that switches from cold outside air to the air that blows through the core, as for the gurgling you might have a radiator cap that is getting weak.

Have you by any chance checked the water pump? Can you see coolant circulating in the radiator?

Sounds like your radiator is frozen. My toyota does the exact same thing if I don't have enough antifreeze and the radiator core freezes.
