My dumb thing for the week.

Decided I would fire up the engine in the Blazer to check some things like wiring and clearance for the electric fans and stuff. I also comverted the heater over to non-ac. Fired right up and I forgot to put the heater hoses back on! The stream came out of the intake and sprayed off of the roof of the garage and went everywhere! Got the cat wet too. :rotfl: :rotfl:

ROTF!! Im assuming this happened immediately after the thermostat opened up? :rotfl:
No, it came out of the port in the intake for the heater hose.

I'm glad I didnt have the radiator hose off! Now that might have been a mess.

lmao!! :rotfl: :rotfl: good one Matt! See, I told everyone that we just hadda do the candid cam in your house to beat any primetime comedy! :finger: :finger:
I will take the positive approach here, at least it started. :finger:
So what motor is this on, the 454 or did you swap the 350 back in yet?
The 454. I think it will stay for awhile. I might just decam it some.

blah... toss it and get yourself a caddy engine... with the aluminum intake, they only weigh 44lbs more than a SBC350, and have the torque of a cummins Diesel... BTW... I REALLY want a cummins!
I am sorry that you want anything that comes from a Dodge.... damn I had to use the D word..... :banghead:
lol.... you ain't ridden in a mildly souped cummins rig yet, I can tell.... I used to hate dodges too...still do, cept for the cummins ones... 350HP and 700 Ft.lbs. of torque?!?!?!?!?! dayum... that feels good!
No he has just seen me pull my jeep on a trailer over the passes going to moab at 75mph. OOHH and it is stock not souped up one bit...
Yep... I need to get me a diesel tow rig...

Actually, I wouldnt mind a Chevy LUV Mikado. The ones with that Suzu V6 diesel... mmm...
Paul forgot to mention that what he uses to pull his rig is not a Dodge, it is a FORD with the POWERSTROKE!!!!! Bone stock and still whooping ass. I have also seen and have a video of a Powerstroke on 36's-37's running a 11.24 1/4 mile.... now that is a smoking truck... maybe I will load in onto the site if we can put videos on here.... and really... Why ram it, when you can STROKE it!!!!
lol... cause a stroke will cost you WAY more $$ to play around with than a cummins will... try a whole set of cummins injectors for the same price as 1 powerstroke injector... now Multtiply that by 8.....
I'll take a cummins ANYDAY! We got a cummins in the shoop that a guy just bought... the P.O. had seriously overheated it with a hole in the radiator and we tore the engine apart expecting galled pistons, scored cylinders, the works... this engine had 250,000 miles on it... the only thing it had was a cracked head... less than .001 wear in the cylinders... all we ended up doing was the new head and a new set of rings.... try that with a FORD... ain't gonna happen, I'll guarantee it...

I'll take another cup of this kind of TECH, I thought you paid more for high quality. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I like the powerstroke and it gets me were I need to go. Deisel motor'e will run forever and there is a lot to be said about how the vehicle was used. If two vehicles are used in the same manner the wear is more or less the same. The real selling point is dodges are ugly. :finger:
When my tow rig dies I would like to get a deisel also.

Maybe a nice Duramax for Christmas.

Or maybe some reality instead. :?

all said and done, I'd rather take any of the diesels over a gas... the rest is just cummins loyalty... After 2007, fords will have the cummins diesels in theirs, cause they bid the cummins contract... theres a chance that dodges will have detroit diesels in them, cause mercedes just bought out the remaining 73% of detroit....
Dodge vs. Ford

I have been hauling horses and jeeps all my life, and Dodge is the only way to go... fords are way to expensive... they dont say Found On Road Dead for no reason! I am working on soupin up my Dodge, and I have to say, it's kickin ass!!! Diesels save alot on gas expenses... but it tends to even out with parts. I guess the bottom line is that i would rather be cummin than strokin... lol! :firedevi:
Amen cowgirl! lmao! at least there is someone else in here that knows what a "GOOD" diesel is all about... not something made by isuzu like *ahem* some other diesels......
A new update tho.. I found out for sure that in 2007, the Dodges will have Mercedes diesels in them. In late 2004, Dodge is offering a diesel-electric hybrid truck for sale that should get about 40 MPG, i'm thinking... the electric motor/generator will sit between the cummins diesel and the tranny.... it will be interesting to see how it does...
