I just did a body swap this weekend on a 79' to a 83' full-size body. A problem that I'm facing are the brakes. The 79' was drivable when sripped down, just majorly rusty. When I drove the brakes seemed very hard. Tonight we bled the brakes(after the swap) and had great fluid flow. I took it for a spin and noticed how firm the brakes felt. I'm also hearing a slight vacuum leak coming from the booster when braking is applied. I'm wondering if the booster is bad. A new problem for me and just wondering if anyone might know of the problem

When you shut off the truck wait 15 seconds or so, then pop the hose out of the booster, it should hiss ie: (still be holding some pressure). When a booster goes bad it can cause a stiff pedal.

The engine does stumble! Is there a reason why the booster went bad just by removing from one rig and installing on another? It did feel alittle firm when I drove it to my shop. Not the normal feeling!
