I have read good things about them. I had some stt's of the previous design and they were great. That sounds like a great price.

Not the same tread design but I run 285/75-16 S/T's on my 1 ton crew cab dually with a 4000lb cab over camper. Both the STT's and S/T's have the same load rating for my size (a little over 3300 lbs). Been running them for 2 to 3 years and they seem to be doing pretty good with milage. "Dually Dawg" is our tow rig and isn't for crawling around off road but I like them.

I can't remember which other "brands" Cooper makes but I do know they make another major off road tire.

Cooper also makes the Pro Comp line.

Cooper is a good tire, they last a long time because they use a little harder rubber compound.
Yes indeed, harder compound that grips a little less in the rain.

You guys should take a look through the (ODI) Office of Defects Investigation database and see what comes up......because an article said that The Cooper Tire Company had 3 times more RECALLS

http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/results.cfm

Otherwise.....i run them off-road.....but not ON-road
