Attention Idaho Recreationists!

The USDA-Forest Service has just released their Proposed Action for the management of public, motorized wheeled-vehicle travel on the Mountain Home Ranger District of the Boise National Forest.
This proposal focuses on changes within the five "E" Travel Management Areas on the Ranger District but also includes a few select revisions to public motorized travel management within other travel management areas.

Copies of the Proposed Action documents and maps are available to view or download on the forest's website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r4/boise/recreation/travel_management/travel_mgmt_index.shtml.

Three open house-style public meetings have been scheduled where FS employees will be available to discuss the Proposed Action and provide the opportunity for detailed map reviews and address questions. The meeting schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, March 27, 2007 1:00 P. M.
Boise River Senior Center
Pine, Idaho

Tuesday, March 27, 2007 7:00 P. M.
American Legion Post #26
515 East 2nd South
Mountain Home, Idaho

Thursday, March 29, 2007 7:00 P. M.
Sierra Conference Room
Best Western Vista Inn at the Airport,
2645 Airport Way
Boise, Idaho

Public comments on the Proposed Action are welcomed and encouraged. Comments will be most helpful if they identify the specific changes to the Proposed Action you think are needed, why those changes should be made and how such a change would better meet your interests.

The comment deadline is April 6, 2007.
