I was thinking about this and wanted some (serious) input about what you guys think.
I would like to get a newer, mid to late 80's Blazer and chop the roof so that my 74 Blazer Top will fit.. I know that ANYTHING is possible if ya got enough money and time, but seriously, how hard would this be?
Thoughts, Comments, Suggestions?

The only thing that you will need to worry about is the seal to the windshield. You will have to weld in an older frame so that roof will work. Other than that, You can cut the top and the doors with a sawsall. You end up loosing about 75 pounds.

How hard it it to find an old top like the one I have? what price range are they usually? are there any aftermarket suppliers?

Matts right about the top stuff except for one thing. You would have to extend the bed rails right to the door and you have to find the peices that go on the door frame without those the door will bend itself into oblivion my brother in law (he has a 77 blazer) and me found that the rocker panel is more reinforced on my blazer than on his too although I don't think the top swap would be real hard. :rotfl: :rotfl:

so. basically if I found a don[r blazer in a junkyard to pull the little stuff off of like that, i'd be set?

i've never had the shell of mine since new. i've seen some done around town and done well they are very cool. :thumb:

while at the junkyard, keep an eye out for the plastic window hinge snap thing that locks the sliding glass on the shell. i see by photo that's not what you got but i'd pay handsomely as cheby wants to sell the whole friggin window assy. i've been unable to find one so far
