I have problems with Pro Comp Tires. :?

I took my truck to an independent ASE facility for a second opinion and they stated that these PRO COMP tires were indeed DEFECTIVE, which caused my vehicle to drift SEVERELY towards one way of the road after I had my brand new truck aligned.

One tire even developed a tiny bulge in the tire tread.

4 wheel Parts refused to refund and/or replace my 12K tires even though I had purchased their pushed upon, "No questions asked $100.00 tire warranty. "

They stated, "Unless the tire has visible damage, we cannot/will not warranty it. :deal: Funny, that's not what they said when they sold me their tire warranty, "If anything goes wrong with the tire, we will replace it for free, again saying no questiones asked."

Having college research drilled into my brain, I began to research these tires and found that there are industry set standards:

N 87 mph 140 km/h Temporary Spare Tires
P 93 mph 150 km/h
Q 99 mph 160 km/h Studless & Studdable Winter Tires
R 106 mph 170 km/h H.D. Light Truck Tires
S 112 mph 180 km/h Family Sedans & Vans
T 118 mph 190 km/h Family Sedans & Vans
U 124 mph 200 km/h
H 130 mph 210 km/h Sport Sedans & Coupes
V 149 mph 240 km/h Sport Sedans, Coupes & Sports Cars

They are read in s sideways number form as well.

Wouldn't you know it, what is posted on these PRO COMP tires isn't THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. These tires depicted "LOAD RANGE "D" on them, but all 4 tires were missing the the industry standard MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE TIRE SPEED LETTER, nowhere to be seen/found with the naked eye.

I have posted this on a couple other sites already and people have replied stating thaty have had the same exact problems. They contacted PRO COMP directly and they have steted that PRO COMP shipped them (4) brand new tires w/o even seening and/or taking back the other defective ones.

I wansn't aware of this approach, so I took the following actions that got this corporation into trouble, which really :firedevi: upset them.

I decided to look their Company Reliability Report on the Better Business Bureau website located at ww.labbb.org. It stated the following below:

4 wheel Parts has an "Unsatisfactory Performance Record" with the Better Business Bureau when it comes to answering consumer complaints along with the following below:

*Delivery Issues
*Difficulty obtaining Refunds :banghead:
*Overcharging:
*Poor Installation:::::::::::::::: :angryfir:
*Poor Customer Service :(
*Billing Disputes
*Failure to Deliver Ordered Merchandise /Missing Items/Incorrect Items

If I had read the BBB reliability report on 4 wheel parts or somebody would have warned me, I would have not have spent $12,800.00 at their store. :scared:

SECRETS

Let me tell you the dirty little secrets of 4 wheel parts.

Company policy when an ERROR occurs either in shipping and/or installation is to make the customer absorb the cost of re-shipping and/or rental car expenses.

How do I know, the President of the company did it to me while we were standing in front of the main corporate headquarters.

In addition. 4 Wheel Parts and the BBB had practiced(CONCELAMENT OF COMPLAINTS) by transferings actual filed coplaints against stores all over the U.S to the (Main Corprate Address in Compton, CA)

When I filed my complant against one of their stores for, "Improper Installation," the address was magically changed from that store to the Main Corporate Headquarters in Compton, CA.

This type of deceit/trickery gave all their other stores a near, "Perfect/Spotless" Satisfactory Record. :deal:

As you look at Better Businness Bureau Company Reliability Report for the Main Headquarters in in Compton, CA at www.labbb.org/ it states the following:

4 wheel Parts has an "Unsatisfactory Record" with the Better Business Bureau when it comes to answering consumer complaints along with the following below:

*Delivery Issues
*Difficulty obtaining Refunds
*Overcharging:
*POOR INSTALLATION********* :banghead:
*Poor Customer Service
*Billing Disputes
*Failure to Deliver Ordered Merchandise /Missing Items/Incorrect Items

The Main 4 Wheel Parts Corporate Office does not have workshops to perform any-kind of, "Installations."

The Main Corporate Headquarters takes orders, has offices, and shipes out parts and supplies to all of its stores.

This is company policy and the DIRTY LITTLE SECRET

Check this out????????????????

DAILY LIFE IS VERY CHALLENGING FOR MANY PEOPLE HAVING TO BATTLE ILLNESSES AND/OR DISEASES WITH NO CURES, but getting ripped off on top of that just sucks HARDCORE and is flat out unacceptible.

THE LINE IN THE SAND IS DRAWN HERE.

My email has been overflowing with 200 responses on tire complaints and bad service. I have pasted some below: (same disclaimer applies)

*As a ex employee of 4 wheel parts , although i dont agree with everything the guy said , most of the stuff he said is true , there in business to do one thing and thats take people's money, i commend him for getting the truth out there if he helps but one person not spend money there or not use bad tyres he has done his job*

*Diesel Enthusiast Group: Diesel EnthusiastJoined: 08 July 2004Location: TexasPosts: 24 I bought a set of Xterrains for my Dmax and had nothing but problems. Drifting, front end shakes & tire wear. I pulled them off after 15k. Yes I got them from 4WP. I've had issues with them in the past.. I know better that to buy from them. They did the lift on my 1/2 ton and they told me 35" tires would fit no problem with this lift. Two days later I crushed the finders. They told me..well most people don't go offroading when they get a lift. I took the manager for a ride and found the deepest ditch I could find to show him the problem. All they would do is buy me a set of finder flares to cover the damage. I was hot.... They really need to get it together.*

*Contact Pro Comp directly. A friend of mine had almost 20,000 on his Pro Comp M/Ts and the same problem as you. He contacted than and ended up getting a COMPLETELY NEW set delivered to his house for free. They even forgot to pickup his old ones and I ended up buying them for $50 then resold them for a trail rig for $200*

*nuts, 4wheel parts just bent me over a week ago. In my book they are a bunch of crooks and i like the post. I ordered tires from them, told me free shipping, then charged me for shipping and a pallet fee. The d**n tires didn't even show up on a pallet. I asked if they were having any sales on tires because i could wait a month or so if needed, they told me no. Two days later i recieve an advertisment from them stating sale on all tires, and just above that there was a huge free shipping banner! What a load of nuts! So i called and the customer service guys said he couldn't answer any questions and told me to call back later and talk to an internet rep. That guy couldn't answer any questions and told me to call back later! 4WHEELPARTS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!! *

*I guess i should have said a little more. Tthe tread pattern is exactly like the BFGs. Just look at them side by side. I did cut the side wall on one after having them for 2 weeks. 4wheel fawk ups wouldn't even think about replacing it, even with the waranty. I had them and ran them for 3,000 miles on an isuzu trooper, then sold them to my roommy. He has them on his Taco for 35,000 and going miles. So i would have to say the wear is not bad at all.*

*4 Wheel Parts Wholesalers has terrible service, but I continue to buy from them because there aren't many other choices here in Houston.I have mostly bought Jeep parts from them (lift kit, shackles, detroit locker, solid axles, shackle reverse kit). You would think that they would have Jeep parts in stock, but ALL of the above had to be shipped. They usually charge you extra to have the parts shipped to their store, and more than once they have screwed up my order. Also, more than once they have told me they would have parts for me in a couple of days and it took a week.*

*I bought a fuel pump from them, had it shipped to me. When I got it, it was the wrong pump. I mailed it back. They wouldn't return the money, said "it was a used pump I mailed back"..(BullS!!!) I used a credit card to pay for it. So I called the credit card company, and told them that I returned that purchase and they refused to refund the money...by law, they credit card company has to challenge the company when you disputed a charge. I mailed the credit card company (capital one) a copy of the USPS shipping receipt, they took the charge off of my card, and got it back from 4WP...here is the real kicker...4WP then mailed to pump back to me...thinking that if I received it I would have to pay for it...but they mailed it back by putting a wrong "to:" address on it, so it was a "return to sender"..and the postage was free..they dodged the postage that way!!! ... but the postal clerk saw it when I picked it up, I had to fill out forms and give them a copy of the original shipping receipt...I don't know what happened, but I think the USPS was calling it mail fraud by 4WP....like I said though, I don't know what the USPS did, I just had to fill out a statment with my original shipping receipt copy. I got my money back and haven't heard a thing. I've never had problems with them before this...I had a lift and exhaust from there..no problems...but I'm not going back, after this fuel pump issue...that was a dirty little trick someone pulled to save $10.00 on shipping costs...it just seems like dirty business*

My older brother also had trouble with them. He ordered 4 new spring perches, got the wrong size, sent them back (which he paid the S&H). THey sent him another WRONG size set. He sent them back again and HE again paid the S&H. THen he got a letter and the money back with a letter saying they were out of stock of that item number after he spent over $80 for S&H. so he lost 80 bucks du to their incopetence......

I ordered five mounted and balanced sets of 31” X 10.5” BF Goodrich Mud Terrain (M/T) KM tires on 15" AR-23 American Racing wheels. Payment was by credit card over the telephone and all other additional information was taken by the representative to insure the delivery of the merchandise. He even read back my order to me and it was correct. I asked what proof would exist of the actual order that I placed. He said that there were recordings of the conversations of phone orders to deal with these types of situations and that the recording would be on the PC.

The shipment arrived and when I got home and unloaded the tires I realized that I had been given All Terrain T/As instead of Mud Terrain T/As. I immediately contacted the customer service center with my order number and spoke to the representative. He simply told me that the order said All-Terrain T/As and that I was mistaken. I stated that the situation was totally unacceptable and I demanded the mistake be corrected. He then stated that there was a price difference between the M/Ts and the A/Ts that I would have to pay that amounted to $23.00/tire. Assuming an honest mistake had been made, I stated that I was willing to pay the difference to get the tires I wanted (and had ordered). It’s not my desire to cheat anyone out of anything. If there was an honest mistake made (by 4wheelparts), and I had not paid the proper amount, I was willing to make-up the difference. I was however (and still am not) willing to incur any shipping related costs as the shipping of the errant order is absolutely not my responsibility.

I explained that I had ordered correctly and that his refusal to absorb the shipping costs suggested strongly that the wrong tires had been sent either on purpose (to reduce costs as the M/Ts are a more expensive tire) or simply with a disregard for the accuracy of the order since few people would be willing to absorb the shipping costs to make the exchange. Simply put, the old Bait-and-Switch. I informed him that that type of activity amounts to fraud and I simply would not accept being a victim of it.

Re: MAJOR IDLER ARM FRAUD

I had some issues with them and swore I wouldnt do business with them. Very poor customer service, shady people for sure, over charging me. so on and so on... Finally I got ahold of a regional manager and he refunded me some $$$ and gave me the bullshit lift and tire warrenty that wouldnt have meant shit if i did have a problem. I personally wont let them install anything else for me.

IMO (educated)

I got my last set of tires from them only because I bullshitted the guy down cheaper then I had found them anywhere. They shipped them to my home address on a fawken SEMI. He couldnt come down my street cause the powerlines and the fact that we have a city ordanence that no trucks are allowed on side street... What fawken idiots...lol

I also had major issues with them as well. As you know 90% of truck owners elect to purchase/install larger tires, which puts an enormous strain on a specific factory/stock part called an, ]“Idler arm” among other parts as well. In approximately 5,000 to 7,000 miles this part will fail.

4X4 Parts Wholesalers then advised me and a bunch of other customers that this part has failed and needs to be changed, Immediately." changed, “Immediately.” They then advised me that they have available an aftermarket Heavy Duty, “Idler Arm” and will even provide me with a one year full warranty for $165.00.

There is no aftermarket Heavy Duty, “Idler arm” in existence. 4X4 Parts Wholesalers purchases the factory/stock parts directly from the dealer ship, calls it another name on their invoice, installs them, and commits flat out fraud. Then they align my truck charge about $300.00 for the whole transaction only for the same identical factory/stock part to fail again under the tremendous strain of the larger wheels at about 7,000 miles.

don't expect to get anywhere fast with 4wp. they screwed me around for 4 months and normally asking to talk to the next higher person up works but not for me. i called the corporate office many times and even wrote a letter to the owner, he wrote me back and basically told me to f-off.__________________1995 4Runner4 in. lift, 33's, rear locker, lots of other stuff*

*Sounds like the exact same BS story I got when ordering from 4WPW. I apologize to the guy in this thread that works for them in advance, but personally, there are too many dishonest people working for that dishonest company. (I say the company is also dishonest b/c of its recent "10% off" sales in which they just jack up the shipping/handling/crating fees to cover the discount plus a good margin. For example, they had 10% off tires. So a tire that regularly runs $223 is on sale for $200.....regular shipping is $65 for 4 tires to my address in that size. However, during the so-called "sale", shipping was $72 PER TIRE, so they are actually making MORE money at sale price than at regular price. Simply dishonest, IMO. )I ended up canceling my order for tires from 4wpw and got them from National instead (had nothing to do with the "10% off sale". That was after I'd already ordered the tires at regular price). I think 4wpw is fine as long as the item you want is IN STOCK. It's when they don't have it that I think many of their salespeople lie to make the sale. Their prices are generally decent; their service just sucks.*

Wow, I need multiple beers after those

I just found out why so many people have complaints of being ripped off by 4WP, it might be because one of its owners has the following below:

Your whole post is crap, Quit whining, and deal with it on your own.. In my opinion, everyone has issues with certain companys from time to time, but does it really justify you posting crap like you have been? I mean COME ON, who gives a crap about the guys background, and who gives a crap about case #'s etc.. As far as I can see it your making an ass outta your self.. If you don't like dealing with the company, then just don't deal with them..
I would really step back and re-evaluate what you are doing / saying here in this post..
Pro Comp Will stand Behimd there product, contact them directly!

I agree with allusee some posts said that poeple conttinued to buy stuff from them after they had been screwed over. What the hell!! Poeple like that deserved to get screwed. Also there is always two sides to the story. The tires I ordered from them got sent to the wrong place I caught it no extra shipping charges were incurred and the tires were not late. One wheel had a little ding in it and I am a little worried about it rusting right there but when you receive something from a mailorder company you must state any damage when you sign for it. I didn't and expect them to do nothing about it. Oh and by the way just cause you are sick doesn't mean you get special treatment :angryfir: :angryfir:

Dude!! Are you FOR REAL!! MATT IS THIS ONE OF YOU VIRTUAL PEOPLE, PLAYING A JOKE ON ME!!!

I was simply stating that you shouldn't post crap like that!! DON'T INSULT ME!! I feel if you have a complaint deal with it on your own!! I mean its one thing to rant a little about poor service or BS like you did, after all thats what the BB is for RIGHT, but to GO ON and ON, about criminal law suits, and BS, now thats BS!! No one cares that much, we all know how to do research prior to purchasing something, and having work done by someone, sounds like you DIDN'T do yours!! Seems to me thats your fault, not anyone elses!!!

And Furthermore, I believe I stated that if you had a problem w/ Pro Comp, then you should deal with them directly, because I know they will stand behind there product!!

Now, so you are clear on my STATEMENT HERE, BASICALLY I AM TELLING YOU TO STFU!! There is ALWAYS three sides to a story, and I SERIOUSLY DOUBT you are telling the entire story, I mean I am sure its your side / version!!

Now if I have insulted you, I appologize, but I am displeased of the way you went about this whole thing!!

REAL WORLD HUH!! Thats FUNNY!! The only world I live in is my own, and I have great morals, and standards in which I live by, and would not live any other way, its pretty real to me and everyone I come in contact with!!

I would however be interested in some ACTUAL TECH Information, if ya have any!!

Now that I have spoken my peace, CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG!!
And if you need help, parts etc.. Feel free to get ahold of me via PM, We will Def. hook ya up!!

Well said Amber... :thumb: I guess some people have way too much time on there hands. But then again it's not that difficult to cut and paste the same thing over and over and over again! :banghead: I've scoped out ripoffreport.com. What a bunch of whiners! I mean there's some pretty interesting stuff there but it came off to me as a gathering for "sue happy" people. But for real I haven't personally had any problems with 4WP as a company so to each person his own. If I did I certainly wouldn't make it a personal vindetta to destroy that person and/or company. What goes around comes around, so stand back and watch the people who play with fire get burned. Life's too short to waste time on petty things. And if your life's shorter then other's then more the reason to go wheelin and live life to the fullest however you so choose to...

I am an HR director, BIG FAWKING DEAL.. Prpfessions have nothing to do with anything in this post!!

Like I said before, appologies are not necessary to me, you owe Pro Comp & 4WP them!! But what comes around goes around!!

Don't INSULT me by deleting your posts!! BE A MAN AND STAND BEHIND WHAT YOU POSTED!!

Get the point YET!!! Also, I doubt I will need anything from ya, but thanks for offering!!

DROP IT ALREADY!! GO BEND SOMETHING!! BY THE WAY WHAT DO YOU DRIVE? SPECS!! [ICS!!
