Hi all. I am new to all of this and at age 43 getting a late start. Bought a Nissan Xterra last year because I thought it would be a good all around rig. Decided to take it to the local off road park just for fun and was amazed what it could do and had a great time doing it.

Wish the aftermarket parts and support were not so expensive. If I keep liking it might eventually getting something I can really build up to go anywhere, anytime.

Right now just playing with what I have and having a good time. Took me a few days to get over denting up one of the skid plates and scratching up the doors and doing a little body damage. Now I am not so worried about damage so long as I am trying to do things within the capability of my vehicle and being relatively safe. Looking for areas in North east washington, north idaho, and western montana to go wheelin.

Drive a silver 2011 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x.
It has body on frame and stock rear locker running 265/75/16
Have a shrock rear and sliders.

Ordered old man emu front and rear so I can mount a custom winch mt and ENGO winch.

Once I have a little lift I will likely put on 285/75/16 but I think that is as big a tire as I can do without more extreme modifications.

That will probably be enough for this rig. Once I get to the point were I am thinking about a a front locker or front SAS will likely look at getting something already built and less expensive to modify.

Name is Byran Yates .....go by Rowdie. For those old enough to remember the TV show " Rawhide " with Rowdie Yates ( Clint Eastwood ). Yeah i'm a little older but got hooked on jeeps back in High School. Hence the year of the jeep.

I have owned an 1979 CJ5 for about 20 years. I live in Shelley Idaho for about 3 years now , after living in Fort Collins Colorado ( 17 years ).

I haven't had my jeep running for a few years ( building a new house and getting things settled ). My jeep is one of those jeeps with several mods. It has a 97' 4.0L Cherokee swapped with everything to pass smog in Colorado ( No smog to pass in Idaho ). Custom cage , tube fenders, hydraulic clutch, power steering, intake, dash and stinger swingout tire carrier ( bought a tube bender a few years ago. ) Re -wiring and Collecting parts to do axles.

Hi everyone,

I finally decided to become a member.
I currently have just an 2007 Toyota Tacoma with access cab. I use it mainly for work in the oilfield and I don't really baby it like past vehicles I have owned. It sees craptastic weather and even worse rig roads. I have run Dick Cepek Mud Country tires, LT265/75R16 and that is about all the upgrades or mods I have done. I have been in deep mud and snow and {knock on wood} have not been stuck.

I have pulled out more full size American made trucks and SUVs then I can count too. My Taco kicks a$$ and will be getting another one or maybe even a Tundra. Still up in the air about that one though.

So with that, hope to meet some cool people and learn more about my truck to make it even better then it already is.
