So, I just couldn't leave well enough alone. Sold my IFS suspension lift today to Crawlspace (Brad). We backed in the Suburban and started ripping and tearing...

So now what you may ask? Well, as usual, nothing I own can be of one brand or design, so on with the build..stay tuned.

And by the way, I have my trusty advisors here with me to help!! Thanks Kurt and Greg!

For bonus points, what makes the front axle unique??

It's not that it is missing the axleshaft, or that it is a CAD axle.

Well.....sometimes you take on a project and it just doesn't work out like you planned. Mainly because I really didn't have much of a plan to start with. After dropping a brake caliper on my head, almost knocking me out, I think I went a little insane. I chopped the crap out of my frame to try to graft on the dodge frame, only to find that it just wasn't going to work out that way. So, back to the drawing board!

Yup, the knot on my head is pretty sore today.

Oh well, live and learn. Of course after I hacked my frame I saw an easier route. Stupid links and coils....should've just went with leafs..

Re: Latest addition to the land of misfit trucks at my house....

Thats what I was thinking to myself, why not just put in some leaf springs and call it good.

Re: Latest addition to the land of misfit trucks at my house....

Leafs are for wheeling rigs though and coils and links are for the daily driver...Sheesh...Don't you know anything?

No, I really wanted to stay unit bearing, shift on the fly, auto hub, and soft ride coils. I will get there, just having an issue seeing my way right now.

It runs just fine...just doesn't drive well!!

I know the feeling, seems like I get them all running and when they start dropping it is like a domino effect.

I don't have the coil buckets mounted yet, or the upper control arm design finalized, but here are a few pictures of the work so far. Right now I have angle iron between the frame and axle while I ordered some link ends and mounts.

And this past weekend we worked and finally got it sitting on the springs. It took a lot of work, but here is where I am at as of now. There are still things that need to be done, but for now it is out of my shop so I can get to working on transmissions!
