HBRK Fun Krawl to benefit WFTW, July 26th 2008

Ok getting the information out early. Our next Fun Krawl will be on July 26th.
Where:
Top Line Truck
7503 Track Road Nampa
When:
7/26/08 @ 1000

All of the procedes will go toward the Wheelers for the Wounded event that we will be hosting next summer. Procedes will go towards event insurance, permits, food and other necessities.

For those of you who have participated in the past we will be having a rock crawling event using WEROCK style scoring. This is a timed event with two courses. (we have more rocks than before so the course will be bigger and better and we weill be able to have two courses running at the same time if needed!)

Stock Modified- this is for 35" and smaller tire sizes, recommend lockers, tow points front and rear and sliders.

Unlimited- 35" and larger tires, HIGHLY recommend full cage (or hard top), locking differentals front and rear, lower gears for crawling (transfer case or axle gearing), bumpers front and rear with tow attachments, rock sliders and not being afraid of the potential of a little sheet metal damage!

We scheduled our 2 night camp trip to Silver City that weekend last night at the meeting since you didn't have a date up then....


Oh well, I sure would have liked to have made it.

July is a busy month, every weekend has multiple activities going on.

HBRK 4X4 FUN KRAWL

to benefit the Wheelers for the Wounded

Spectator Cost : $2.00
Kids are Free
Competitor Cost : $10.00 Per run

Date : 7/26/08
Time : Driver Check In 9:00 am Courses Start 10:00 am
Place : Top Line Truck 7503 Track Road Nampa 83686
This will be a competition type rock crawl, timed and scored.
Two courses : Moderate - 35" and smaller, Extreme - 35" and up *For the Extreme course we are recommending 35+" tires, lockers front and rear, as well as body protection, sliders and bumpers.
There will be a raffle at the end of the course prior to the trophy presentation, 1 ticket for $2 or 3 for $5.
Food and drinks will be available



Wheelers for the Wounded (WFTW) is an organization with the goal of providing a weekend of off-roading and camping to our country's wounded military members all over the United States. This will provide them with much deserved fun and excitement as they traverse the most extreme terrain our great country has to offer in a variety of the best off-road capable vehicles ever built.
Funds raised are to cover food, camping, and miscellaneous expenses for the Wheelers For The Wounded weekend which is locked in for 7/10/09- 7/12/09. All excess will be donated to a charity which benefits wounded veterans in the USA.

Just to add a little incentive to come, we just got about 6 Big truck loads of rock brought in for the event.
I hope to see everyone there, if there is any question as to who is welcome EVERYONE is invited to this FAMILY event. We will be doing more planning on this tonight I am going to work on having a KIDS RUN, trophy and all!!!

well i went and visited RC willey's today and they were nice enough to donate a couple things for the raffel. the items are a 3pc duffle set and a 6' piano mat for the kids.

Very Nice. I looked at the pile on Friday and it was quite a large pile of rocks so I can't wait to see it with 6 more truck loads! We are going to have plenty of options for courses!

Will do Mikey! We are going to have to get together to make the courses as there is A LOT of rock out there now. We will be discussing this further at the next meeting and setting up a time to set up the courses. It will be an all day event setting it up this time so your help is appreciated! FYI, we are going out on the 12th to scout for camping sites for WFTW, and hit a trail or two!

Well I went out to Top Line Truck today to help set up some of the courses for the fun crawl. OH MY GOD!!:thumb: Roodle was not kidding when said that there was an a$$ load of rock! You could just pick any line to rally and I know that it would challange a lot of drivers skills.

After the course is roughly picked out it will be a beautiful thing. there should be plenty of extra rock to do some kind of a free style crawl of some kind if you want to risk screwing around. :thumb:

I look forward to seeing all of you turn out to this event. It is for a great cause. You will have a good time. Food will be offered on site too.

Appreciate the help today.......

we kind of set up one course, pre-ran it for the stock-mod, and found out that it may be a little too difficult... we will see. Made a couple of NICE climbs for the unlimited and as was mentioned, we didn't even get into 1/3 of the rocks that are out there! It is going to be AWESOME!

it will be fun hey anyone have some canopies we could use its supposed to be like 95 deg.dont want anyone getting heat stroke make sure you bring a first aid kit also you nnever know when your spotter is going to get his or her finger smashed in a rock .

Tht would be our spotters finger Damon Parker He had to finish that course with his hand above his head and he looked a little pail. Also all drivers and spotteers are to wear helmets so if you would feel more comfortable wearing your own bring it!!

I concur, thanks to everyone who made this such a success. It was great to see so many people have a great time. I know many were concerned when they looked at the courses but there was a minimal amount of damage. Some new scrapes were acquired and there was one steering issue on the stock mod course so it was overall a great time!
