New upgrade

I just picked up a 1.6 16v kick motor for the sami for $300. i wanted to get the tcase gears first but couldn't pass this one up. Cant wait to through it in. Anyone done the swap before? any pointers?

A computer and harness can be expensive. If you watch zuwharrie every now and then, there are ready to go harness's and computer's for decent prices.

There is also a guy that will modify the harness for you if you don't want to deal with it. You should ask Mope as I think he has his wire harness done by the guy.

Yeah it comes with it all. I am picking the motor up on monday down in SLC. He told me the computer and everything was there. I will be sure to double check when I pick it up. Thanks for the pointers. That motor will be a good up grade for the zuk. I hoping to get it in soon and gears in the tcase right after that.

Those will be about the two best upgrades you can do to your zuk. Good luck. If you want someone to do up your harness, let me know. I know a guy you can ship it too. He treated me fair on the price I think. It was much less than the vendors. Or you can be brave, and do it yourself too.

Yeah let me know who that guy is I was looking at the Trail Tough kit that comes with the harness $550. Was the harness easy to install after you sent yours to that guy? How long did it take you to do the swap? I hope it all goes pretty fast.

If you are a member on zuwharrie.com the guys screen name is zuk1972 . I've got a phone number for him as well if you want it. He charged waaay less then the price you posted above. He had it back in a week, and he had the wires labeled to where they needed to hook up. Mine was an 8v, so it was a bit simpler. Do you have the adapter to bolt the sami tranny to the 1.6? If not, I have a guy for that as well. I just got the plate from him, and I used the Dodge 318 motor mounts to keep it cheap. Let me know if you have any more questions, and good luck, you'll love the difference in the engines.

I need the adapter as well. I was waiting to see what the least expensive route was going to be. so I would be interested in his info too. I pm zuk1972 for mor info on the wiring. Thanks for your help. We will have to all hook up one of these days and get all the zuks in the area and do an all zuk run.
